Check the battery before replacing it.
Slow cranking or a battery warning can be a reason to have your starting system checked. Testing helps the team assess the battery and discuss whether further diagnosis or replacement is needed.
Bring up recent jump-starts, how often you drive, and any warning messages you’ve seen. Your vehicle’s symptoms help guide the conversation.
The right fit matters.
Your vehicle may have specific battery requirements, especially if it uses start-stop technology or other electrical systems. Our team can help identify an appropriate replacement for your vehicle.
Ask about the installed price, warranty, and any vehicle-specific procedures before the work begins. Motorcraft® battery options are available for applicable vehicles.
Make a battery check part of your plan.
If you’re already arranging an oil change or another maintenance visit, ask about battery testing at the same time. It is one more item you can cover while your vehicle is here.
Electric or hybrid vehicle? Let us know when you call. A conventional starting-battery test is different from high-voltage battery diagnosis.
Your questions, answered.
Do you test batteries before recommending replacement?
Battery testing can help assess your battery’s condition. Tell the team about the problem you’re experiencing so they can discuss the appropriate test or diagnosis.
Does a battery warning always mean the battery is bad?
No. A warning may relate to the battery or another part of the electrical or charging system. Have the concern evaluated before buying a replacement.
Can you test hybrid batteries?
Call our team about testing for your specific battery type. Review the offer details and call about your vehicle.
